Product engineering that actually ships

Custom software development services

Custom web and mobile applications, API platforms, and the quality engineering that keeps them stable — built by senior engineers working directly in your stack.

Two software engineers reviewing application code together on a large monitor

Most software projects do not fail in the IDE. They fail because scope was never shaped properly, because the architecture could not absorb the second round of requirements, or because nobody owned the path from a working branch to a production release.

We build software the way a product team does: a small senior pod, a real architecture decision record, working increments every two weeks, and automated tests that run before anything reaches your users. You get the code, the pipeline, the documentation and the ability to take it in-house whenever you want.

What we measure

These are the measures we baseline at the start and report on throughout — not results claimed in advance.

Cycle time
Days from a story being accepted into a sprint to running in production. Baselined in week one, tracked every sprint.
Change failure rate
Percentage of releases that require a hotfix or rollback — the single clearest signal of whether quality engineering is working.
Automated test coverage
Coverage on business-critical paths, with an agreed floor written into the definition of done rather than a vanity percentage.
Core Web Vitals
LCP, INP and CLS measured on real user traffic, not lab conditions, with budgets enforced in CI.
What's included

Capabilities within software development

Custom Web Applications

Line-of-business applications, customer portals and commerce experiences built on a modern, maintainable front end and a service layer designed for the load you actually have.

  • React, Next.js and TypeScript front ends with a documented design system
  • Node.js, .NET and Java Spring Boot service layers
  • Progressive web apps with offline-capable workflows
  • Headless commerce and payment gateway integration
  • Server-side rendering and technical SEO built in from the first sprint

Mobile Applications

Cross-platform and native mobile apps, taken from concept through store review and into a repeatable release cadence.

  • React Native and Flutter for shared-codebase delivery
  • Native Swift and Kotlin where device capability demands it
  • Offline-first sync, push notifications and deep linking
  • App Store and Play Store submission, review and phased rollout
  • Crash reporting, analytics instrumentation and over-the-air updates

API & Integration Engineering

The connective tissue between your systems — designed as a product, versioned properly, and documented well enough that another team can consume it without a meeting.

  • REST and GraphQL API design with OpenAPI contracts
  • Event-driven architecture on Kafka, SQS/SNS or Azure Service Bus
  • Integration middleware and iPaaS orchestration
  • Adapters and anti-corruption layers for legacy systems
  • Rate limiting, authentication, observability and versioning strategy

UI/UX Design

Interface design grounded in how your users actually work, delivered as a component library your engineers can build against — not a static picture of a screen.

  • Discovery interviews, journey mapping and information architecture
  • Wireframes, interactive prototypes and usability testing
  • Design systems with tokens, states and documented usage rules
  • WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility built into the component library
  • Design-to-code handoff specs that engineers can implement directly

Quality Engineering

Testing treated as an engineering discipline that runs continuously in your pipeline, rather than a manual phase bolted on before go-live.

  • Unit, integration and end-to-end automation with Playwright or Cypress
  • API contract testing and regression suites in CI
  • Performance and load testing with k6 or JMeter
  • Accessibility auditing against WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Security testing — SAST, DAST and dependency scanning in the pipeline

Application Modernisation

Moving business-critical legacy applications forward incrementally, so the system keeps earning its keep while it is being replaced.

  • Strangler-fig migration to retire monoliths without a big-bang cutover
  • Containerisation and orchestration on Kubernetes or ECS
  • Framework and runtime upgrades with automated regression safety nets
  • Database migration, schema evolution and data reconciliation
  • CI/CD pipeline construction and infrastructure as code
Our approach

How an engagement runs

Five phases, each with deliverables you can point at. No phase ends on a status report alone.

  1. 01

    Discovery & shaping

A short, intense engagement to turn a brief into something buildable — the problem, the constraints, the riskiest assumption, and what the first releasable slice looks like.

    Deliverables

    • Problem statement and measurable success criteria
    • Prioritised backlog with a shaped first increment
    • Technical risk register with mitigation options
    • Estimate range with the assumptions behind it stated explicitly
  2. 02

    Architecture & foundations

Before feature work starts, we stand up the things that are expensive to retrofit: environments, pipeline, auth, observability and the architectural decisions that constrain everything after.

    Deliverables

    • Architecture decision records for every significant choice
    • Provisioned environments defined as infrastructure as code
    • CI/CD pipeline with quality gates wired in
    • Design system foundations and component scaffolding
  3. 03

    Iterative delivery

Two-week increments, each ending in something deployed to a real environment that you can use. No status-report-only sprints.

    Deliverables

    • Working software deployed to staging every sprint
    • Sprint demo, updated backlog and a written increment note
    • Automated tests written alongside the feature, not after
    • Burn-up against scope with changes surfaced as they happen
  4. 04

    Hardening & release

Performance, security, accessibility and resilience testing against production-like data and load, followed by a rehearsed cutover.

    Deliverables

    • Load and performance test results against agreed budgets
    • Security scan results and remediation log
    • Accessibility audit against WCAG 2.2 AA
    • Runbook, rollback plan and rehearsed release procedure
  5. 05

    Hypercare & handover

Elevated support through the first weeks of live running, then a deliberate handover — either to your team, or into our managed application services.

    Deliverables

    • Defined hypercare window with response commitments
    • Architecture, operations and onboarding documentation
    • Knowledge transfer sessions with your engineers, recorded
    • Transition into AMS or a clean exit — your choice, no lock-in
Engagement models

How you can contract this

Different problems want different commercial shapes. We will tell you which one fits, including when it is the cheapest one.

Dedicated pod

A standing cross-functional team — engineers, QA and a tech lead — working only on your roadmap and reporting into your planning cadence.

Best for
Continuous product development with an evolving backlog
Commercials
Monthly rate per pod, 3-month minimum

Fixed-scope project

A defined deliverable with an agreed scope, timeline and price, following a paid discovery phase that makes the estimate meaningful.

Best for
Well-understood scope with a hard budget ceiling
Commercials
Fixed price, milestone-based invoicing

Time & materials

Named engineers billed against actual effort, with a monthly cap you set and transparent time reporting.

Best for
Exploratory work or a backlog that changes shape often
Commercials
Hourly or daily rate, capped monthly

Outcome-based milestones

Payment tied to agreed, verifiable outcomes rather than effort, with the acceptance criteria defined before work starts.

Best for
Mature scope where success can be objectively verified
Commercials
Milestone payments against acceptance criteria

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Can we take the code in-house later?

Yes, and we design for it. Source lives in your repositories under your ownership from day one, infrastructure is defined as code, and every engagement ends with documented handover sessions. There is no proprietary SegaKIV framework you would have to keep paying for.

How do you estimate a project you have not started yet?

We do not give a firm number before discovery, because an estimate without shaped scope is a guess with a decimal point. We run a short paid discovery, then give you a range with the assumptions written down, so you can see which assumptions move the number.

Who actually writes the code?

Named senior engineers you interview before the engagement starts. We are a small firm, which means the people you meet in the sales conversation are the people on the project — you are not handed to a different team after signature.

How do you handle working across US and India time zones?

Our India delivery centre overlaps the US morning, and every pod commits to a fixed overlap window agreed with you. Standups, demos and escalations happen inside that window; deep work happens outside it. In practice this gives you an engineering day that extends past your own.

What happens if requirements change mid-project?

They will, and the process assumes it. Changes are surfaced against the burn-up at the sprint boundary with a cost and schedule impact attached, so the trade-off is an explicit decision you make rather than a surprise at the end.

Let's talk about what you're trying to build.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
