Decide what to build before anyone builds it

Business & IT consulting services

Technology strategy, digital transformation roadmaps, process redesign and platform selection — independent advice on where technology spend will actually pay back.

Consultant walking a leadership team through a transformation roadmap

The most expensive mistake in enterprise technology is not a failed project. It is a successful project that should never have been started — a platform bought for a problem that was really a process, or a rebuild funded when a configuration change would have done.

Our business consulting work sits before the build. We look at how the business actually operates, where the friction and cost really are, and which of them technology can fix. The output is a sequenced roadmap with a business case you can defend — and a recommendation not to spend where spending won't help.

What we measure

These are the measures we baseline at the start and report on throughout — not results claimed in advance.

Decision clarity
A prioritised roadmap signed off by the people who own the budget, with the assumptions behind each item written down.
Business-case quality
Costs and benefits stated with ranges and dependencies, so the case can be tested rather than taken on trust.
Time to first value
How quickly the first roadmap item delivers something measurable — the test of whether sequencing was right.
Avoided spend
Initiatives deliberately not pursued, recorded with the reasoning, so the same proposal does not return every budget cycle.
What's included

Capabilities within business consulting

Technology Strategy & Roadmap

A multi-year view of where technology should take the business, sequenced so each step funds or de-risks the next.

  • Current-state assessment of systems, spend and capability
  • Target-state architecture tied to business objectives
  • Sequenced roadmap with dependencies made explicit
  • Investment case with cost ranges and assumptions
  • Governance model to keep the roadmap current

Digital Transformation Advisory

Practical transformation — the operating changes that make new technology stick, not just the technology itself.

  • Transformation readiness and maturity assessment
  • Customer and employee journey redesign
  • Operating model and ownership changes
  • Change management and adoption planning
  • Programme mobilisation and governance

Process Improvement

Finding where work actually slows down and costs money — then fixing the process before automating it.

  • Process discovery and value-stream mapping
  • Bottleneck and handoff analysis with measured baselines
  • Future-state process design with process owners
  • Automation opportunity identification
  • KPIs and controls for the redesigned process

Platform & Vendor Selection

Independent help choosing between platforms and partners, with no reseller margin shaping the recommendation.

  • Requirements definition and weighted evaluation criteria
  • Market scan and shortlist of platforms or vendors
  • Structured demos, reference checks and scoring
  • Total cost of ownership over a realistic horizon
  • Contract and commercial term review

IT Cost Optimisation

Making existing technology spend visible and attributable, then cutting what is not earning its keep.

  • Application portfolio rationalisation
  • Licence and subscription utilisation review
  • Cloud cost visibility and FinOps practices
  • Vendor consolidation opportunities
  • Savings tracked against a baseline, not estimated

Data & Analytics Strategy

Deciding what the business needs to measure, and what it would take to measure it reliably.

  • Decision and metric inventory by business function
  • Data maturity and quality assessment
  • Governance, ownership and definition standards
  • Analytics platform and tooling recommendations
  • Phased plan from reporting to prediction
Our approach

How an engagement runs

Five phases, each with deliverables you can point at. No phase ends on a status report alone.

  1. 01

    Understand the business

Interviews and working sessions with leadership and the people who do the work — what the business is trying to achieve, and what stands in the way.

    Deliverables

    • Stakeholder map and interview synthesis
    • Business objectives translated into measurable outcomes
    • Pain points quantified where the data allows
    • Constraints — budget, regulation, capacity — made explicit
  2. 02

    Assess the current state

An honest inventory of systems, processes, data, spend and skills, with the evidence behind each finding.

    Deliverables

    • Application and integration landscape
    • Process maps for the areas in scope
    • Technology spend breakdown
    • Capability and skills gap assessment
  3. 03

    Design the options

Two or three genuinely different options, each with its cost, risk and payback — including doing less than was originally asked.

    Deliverables

    • Option analysis with trade-offs stated plainly
    • Target-state architecture for the preferred option
    • Cost ranges and benefit assumptions
    • Risk register per option
  4. 04

    Build the roadmap

Sequencing the chosen option into releases that each deliver value and reduce risk for what follows.

    Deliverables

    • Sequenced, dependency-aware roadmap
    • Business case the budget holder can defend
    • Governance and decision rights
    • First-phase mobilisation plan
  5. 05

    Support delivery

Staying involved as the roadmap starts — either delivering it with you, or as an independent assurance function if another partner builds.

    Deliverables

    • Programme assurance and quarterly roadmap review
    • Benefits tracking against the business case
    • Handover to delivery, internal or external
    • Roadmap refresh as priorities change
Engagement models

How you can contract this

Different problems want different commercial shapes. We will tell you which one fits, including when it is the cheapest one.

Strategy sprint

A short, intensive engagement producing a roadmap and business case you own regardless of who delivers it.

Best for
A specific decision that needs making soon
Commercials
Fixed fee, typically 3–6 weeks

Transformation partner

Ongoing advisory through a multi-phase transformation, from roadmap into delivery and benefits tracking.

Best for
Multi-year change programmes
Commercials
Monthly retainer with defined deliverables

Independent assurance

An objective check on a programme another partner is delivering — scope, risk, architecture and value.

Best for
A programme that needs an honest second opinion
Commercials
Fixed-fee review, then optional quarterly checks

Advisory hours

Access to senior consultants for specific questions, reviews and decisions as they arise.

Best for
Leadership teams without an in-house architect
Commercials
Pre-purchased block of hours

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Are you independent when recommending platforms?

Yes. We don't resell licences or take referral fees from vendors, so the recommendation isn't shaped by margin. We also implement ServiceNow and Salesforce — when either is a candidate we'll say so upfront, and we're comfortable recommending a platform we don't work with.

What's the difference between business consulting and implementation consulting?

Business consulting decides what to do and in what order. Implementation consulting delivers a specific platform once that decision is made. Many clients use us for both, but the strategy work is deliberately useful on its own.

Do you work with businesses in both India and the USA?

Yes. Client engagement runs from our Delaware office and delivery from Hyderabad. Strategy workshops can be run on-site or remotely in either geography.

How long does a technology roadmap take?

A focused strategy sprint is typically three to six weeks. Broader transformation assessments take longer, depending on how many business units and systems are in scope.

Will you tell us not to spend money?

Yes, and every roadmap we produce includes a list of initiatives deliberately not pursued, with the reasoning. That list is often worth more than the roadmap itself.

Let's talk about what you're trying to build.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
